Merlot IGP Pays d'Oc
«This Merlot is an excellent companion to delicate ragouts, fresh mushrooms, game birds and succulent roasts of veal, pork or lamb. If serving it with cheese, choose a rich, mild variety.»Serving suggestion, Pieroth catalogue
Indication Géographique Protégée is a French country or table wine with an attached protected designation of origin. Such wines may only be made from approved grape varieties and must not be blended with wines from other areas. Wines labelled “Pays d'Oc” come from a region covering the whole of the Midi and the right bank of the southern Rhône.
Characteristics
This deep, blackish-red Merlot is spicy, with nuances of leather and tobacco paired with blackberry and morello/black cherry – a wine with contour and depth. A firm tannic backbone gives this wine the backbone it needs, making it a great food companion, especially with meat in rich sauces.
Serving suggestion
This Merlot is an excellent companion to delicate ragouts, fresh mushrooms, game birds and succulent roasts of veal, pork or lamb. If serving it with cheese, choose a rich, mild variety.
