Triunfo Supremo IGP Tierra de Castilla

Triunfo Supremo is a tribute to the greatness of Castile – a region that has been valued for centuries for its cultural diversity, intellectual richness and outstanding wine culture. IGP Tierra de Castilla covers the wide plains of Castile in the heart of Spain. The continental climate, with hot days, cool nights and low rainfall, creates ideal conditions for concentrated, aromatic wines. The large temperature swings promote slow ripening of the grapes and ensure intense fruit as well as a balanced structure.

Grape varieties: 85% Syrah gives the wine depth, power, dark fruit and a fine spiciness; 15% Tempranillo complements the blend with elegance, freshness and the characteristic aromas of Spain.

The label shows “The Immaculate Conception”, one of El Greco's best-known works. Born in Crete in 1541, the artist found his home in Toledo, the cultural centre of Castile, after stops in Venice and Rome. With his visionary compositions, dramatic use of light and characteristically elongated figures, he created an unmistakable style. The name Triunfo Supremo – “The Supreme Triumph” – recalls El Greco's extraordinary life's journey: an artist who, despite resistance, steadfastly followed his own style and thereby achieved timeless greatness.

Characteristics

In the glass, Triunfo Supremo presents itself in a deep ruby red with violet reflections. On the nose, intense aromas of blackberry, black cherry and ripe plum unfold, accompanied by notes of black pepper, Mediterranean herbs, liquorice and a hint of cocoa. On the palate the wine is powerful yet harmonious. The dark fruit of the Syrah is clearly in the foreground and is supported by the elegance of the Tempranillo. Soft tannins, a pleasant freshness and a long, spicy finish give the wine both character and drinkability.

Serving suggestion

Ideal with grilled meat, lamb, game dishes, hearty pasta dishes, mature cheese or Spanish tapas.
