Rhodanos Vieilles Vignes AOP Côtes du Rhône
«Pairs excellently with beef steak, lamb and game, but also harmonises well with braised vegetables or full-flavoured cheeses.»Serving suggestion, Pieroth catalogue
Between stony terraces and the constant breath of the mistral, the Grenache and Syrah vines thrive along the Rhône – two characterful personalities of the wine world. The barren soils force the old vines to root deep, giving them power and expression. It was here that the style which made the Rhône Valley world-famous was born: spicy, warm and of natural elegance. Rhodanos, named after the Latin name for the Rhône, stands for this union of history, origin and craftsmanship.
Characteristics
Already in the glass, this southern Frenchman shows an intense red. On the nose, a multifaceted interplay of fruit and spice unfolds: dark fruits and red berries combine with delicate herbs, hints of spice and a touch of leather. On the palate the cuvée convinces with velvety-soft tannins, harmonious acidity and a fullness that unites power and elegance in equal measure.
Serving suggestion
Pairs excellently with beef steak, lamb and game, but also harmonises well with braised vegetables or full-flavoured cheeses.
