Moscato Giallo DOP Trentino
«It pairs well with fruity desserts, though these should not be too sweet. Mature, piquant cheese is a perfect match for this opulent wine. Not just a dessert wine, it is also ideally suited as a terrace wine.»Serving suggestion, Pieroth catalogue
The Trentino region is the southernmost part of the Adige Valley (Val d'Adige). Known as the garden of Italy, the region has always been a source of fine, fragrant white wines. This is thanks to the great temperature swings between cool nights and warm days. These wines are usually bottled in the typical “Anforetta” bottle, also known as Bocksbeutel – a bottle shape that in Italy is permitted only for these wines.
Characteristics
Moscato Giallo, also known as Goldmuskateller, is an indigenous Italian variety. This sweet wine presents itself in a beautiful golden colour. In the taste, it shows a pronounced, fruity Muscat note with a refreshing, subtle acidity.
Serving suggestion
It pairs well with fruity desserts, though these should not be too sweet. Mature, piquant cheese is a perfect match for this opulent wine. Not just a dessert wine, it is also ideally suited as a terrace wine.
