La Tosca Riserva DOC Montepulciano d'Abruzzo
«A wine that pairs particularly well with red meat, roast lamb or mature cheese.»Serving suggestion, Pieroth catalogue
With the mighty 2,914 m Gran Sasso d'Italia towering over L'Aquila, the Apennines reach their highest point. Here, affection for red Montepulciano as the most important grape variety reigns supreme. It is especially here that this vine yields powerful wines of great style and fine character – like this one, matured for 24 months in barrique casks. Its high quality is further enhanced by the low yield and the old vines.
Characteristics
The aromatic bouquet hints at red fruits such as cherries, raspberries, plums and spices. This wine also has a soft, enveloping taste and presents itself in the glass in a beautiful ruby red with garnet shadings.
Serving suggestion
A wine that pairs particularly well with red meat, roast lamb or mature cheese.
