Félix Martinez Reserva DO Madrid Cepas Viejas
«Enjoy this wine with hearty, spicy dishes such as chilli and goulash, or simply on its own with a relaxing cigar by the open fireplace.»Serving suggestion, Pieroth catalogue
Vinos de Madrid is a wine region with the D.O. designation of origin. Today the total vineyard area covers around 12,000 hectares. The climate is strongly continental, with annual rainfall of between 450 and 650 mm, and summer temperatures here often climbing to 35°C. The region once had around 60,000 hectares of vineyards, worked by roughly 3,000 growers. The devastating phylloxera outbreak of 1914 severely reduced the vineyard area, and to this day it drives growers to plant new vineyards with better grape varieties in order to raise quality standards.
Characteristics
Beautiful cherry-red colour. A powerful bouquet with hints of ripe fruit. A very elegant wine with great personality – spicy, intense, concentrated and complex on the palate, with very refined tannins and a long-lasting finish.
Serving suggestion
Enjoy this wine with hearty, spicy dishes such as chilli and goulash, or simply on its own with a relaxing cigar by the open fireplace.
