Cinsaut Rosé Western Cape - South Africa
«This lively, uncomplicated rosé is just waiting to be enjoyed and to spread good cheer. Well chilled, it enriches your picnic or invites you to relax at home.»Serving suggestion, Pieroth catalogue
More than 350 years ago, a Dutchman named “Jan van Riebeeck” brought winegrowing from Europe to South Africa. On his arrival he noted the Mediterranean climate, which is superbly suited to viticulture, and decided to import European grape varieties. To this day, the roots of South African winegrowing lie in the wine regions around the province of “Western Cape”. Bordering both the Atlantic and the Indian Ocean, the province benefits from a temperate, maritime climate.
Cinsaut is grown particularly in the south of France and in South Africa. As a red wine it shows suppleness, fragrance and fruit. These qualities predestine it to make a career as a delicately fruity, lively and aromatic rosé.
Characteristics
This rosé presents itself in a vibrant pink in the glass. On the nose it captivates with fruity aromas of ripe raspberries and strawberries and a summery bouquet. On the palate it shows a balanced sweetness-acidity ratio. Wonderfully juicy and easy-drinking.
