Chenin Blanc Western Cape - South Africa 2026
«This delicately fruity wine is the ideal companion to light dishes, especially steamed sea and freshwater fish and poached meat with light sauces. It also harmonises well with mild salads and tender vegetables.»Serving suggestion, Pieroth catalogue
Chenin Blanc is South Africa's most important white grape variety, also known there as “Steen”. It produces full-bodied wines with the scent of pears and peaches.
Characteristics
A young, easy-drinking and lively South African. The sweetish scent of peach is in perfect balance with refreshing citrus aromas of lime and gooseberry. On the palate it delivers what the nose promises: very fruity, lively, young and well balanced. The subtle sweetness is perfectly matched by the fine fruit acidity. Exactly the right white wine for summer.
