Château Canet Éternel AOC Minervois
«Steak, grilled dishes, hearty stews, French onion soup au gratin, Boeuf Bourguignon and Choucroute Garnie.»Serving suggestion, Pieroth catalogue
Éternel – a visual depiction inspired by the works of Jacques Gamelin, Carcassonne's most famous artist. The historic town of Carcassonne lies close to the Château Canet estate. Jacques Gamelin was known as a wine lover and a regular guest at various châteaux in Minervois.
The grapes are hand-picked at optimum ripeness. Château Canet's iconic vineyard, the estate's finest Syrah parcel, in existence since the year 1126, yields only a very small crop – which is why the wines are blessed with a unique character and are highly concentrated. After 12 months of barrique ageing in new French Allier oak casks, Floris Lemstra presents his unique creation.
Characteristics
The colour is a deep, radiant dark red. The nose is elegant, with well-integrated oak notes and aromas of blackberry and blueberry, violet blossom and black pepper. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, with a well-balanced structure and soft tannins.
Serving suggestion
Steak, grilled dishes, hearty stews, French onion soup au gratin, Boeuf Bourguignon and Choucroute Garnie.
