Burg Layer Schlosskapelle Kabinett Müller-Thurgau, Nahe
«An elegant wine for special moments. Perfect for sitting together comfortably after a lovely meal, rounding off a wonderful evening.»Serving suggestion, Pieroth catalogue
Sheltered by the heights of the Soonwald and the Palatinate hills, the Nahe lies in one of the driest regions of Germany. It's little wonder, then, that the Romans already discovered this wonderful patch of land for winegrowing. Nahe wine is remarkably diverse and nuanced, which is why the Nahe is also known as “Germany's tasting room”.
Glassmaking used to rely on local raw materials, and in the Nahe region these were rich in cobalt. As a result, the glass was naturally infused with a blue hue. This is how the tradition of blue wine bottles from the Nahe came about – today a symbol of craftsmanship and dedication in winemaking.
Characteristics
This Müller-Thurgau shows straw yellow in the glass, with seductive aromas of juicy apple, pear and a hint of Muscat. On the palate it is equally convincing, intensely fruity and rounded off by a creamy texture. The delicate fruit sweetness harmonises wonderfully with the subtle acidity.
