This Beerenauslese cuvée comes from Burgenland, one of Europe's most renowned regions for great sweet wines. The special microclimate around Lake Neusiedl, with warm days, cool nights and autumn mist, favours the development of noble rot and highly concentrated grapes. The vintage blend of 1998 and 1999 combines two exceptional years into a wine of remarkable depth and maturity. The long ageing gives the wine a pronounced harmony and complexity. Fruit, sweetness and acidity are completely fused together; nothing seems superficial or dominant. Instead, it shows a calm, mature sweet wine with substance, elegance and great length.

Characteristics

In the glass, the Beerenauslese presents itself in a deep golden hue with warm amber reflections. On the nose, ripe aromas of dried apricots, honey, candied citrus fruits and fine caramel notes unfold. On the palate, the wine is dense, creamy and concentrated, with an intense yet perfectly integrated sweetness. The lively acidity provides freshness and balance, and the finish is long, soft and lasting.
